Take your tastebuds on a trip . . . Trunk Bay: St. John, U.S.V.I.
The Caribbean with its more than 700 islands, islets, reefs, and cays (low islands or reefs of sand or coral), has many a shipwreck laid to rest in its shallow waters, wrecks dating between the 16th and 18th centuries. The islands of the Caribbean are known as Conservation International’s biodiversity hot spot, because they support remarkably different ecosystems such as cloud forests and cactus scrubland. There are many differences between the islands, with the native peoples, customs, and cuisines along with their celebrations having a broad variety of influences ranging from Spanish, Portuguese, Indian, and African to French, British, and Dutch.
